Website Thing

This is the logo for one of the webpages for my website.  I find that the monochromatic themes or at least a complimentary theme, one that includes greyscale obviously.  The font, and all the labels, are ones that appeal to me.

Website

I liked the dark colour scheme however i would have enjoyed some more macabre colours like red and more of a diverse grayscale.  I also would have enjoyed to have a right navigation bar, had i learned how to put tables next to each other, or learned how to make individual cells in table transparent.  However overall i think the website went fairly well.

In a website that was mine i would have had obviously more inspiration and would have put more work or thought into the actual content of it.  however the content in this case was not an overly large deal, and was in fact only there to show that i knew how to format the font.  All in all it could have been better in my opinion, but seems to have sufficed as far as criteria goes.

October 27th 2009

Today we worked on our webpages, including the banners, framework of the website itself.

Websites

Well Designed

1. http://www.samuelljackson.com//

I like this website, not only because it’s Samuel L. Jackson, but also because the grayscale and red theme works almost every time it’s used. And the layout follows most of the general guidelines, like text in the right hand column links are easily accessible, the content of the site is good and the graphics and font compliment it all well.

2. http://tutorialblog.org/

I also like this website because of the subtle colour scheme used. The layout is aesthetically pleasing, the banner at the top with links to twitter and other social networking sites. Then any other links below it as well as the search bar and below that are recent posts. In the right hand column are sponsors, categories and other links.

Totally S****y

3. http://www.dokimos.org/ajff/

This website makes me cry, honestly. As if the content wasn’t bad enough to begin with the background and random crap splattered all over the page, was thoroughly annoying and gave me a migraine in the time it took me to Ctrl + V the URL then close the page. Other than that if you can manage to find the links on the page they don’t seemed to be placed in a very strategic way.

Photos

Today i finished picking my 110 photos for the tourism website i will likely begin next day, however i also had to choose my two favourite photos out of those 110...no easy task but considering what an urbanite i am its likely ill pick some photos from the beijing section, idk check them out below or beside...or something.  These two particularily appeal to me because of the offset of grayscale, the muggy, wet, foggy and almost depressing background, with the bright colour of tailights and assorted mundane colours.  Or at least the one on the right...however i was just told that the one on the right seems to be much more energetic...which i can appreciate, but i just don't want to.

Logo

I really hated all that awful music, except for mine of course.  everything else was fine, i didn't play halo at all...and i started working on a new logo, or different sized logo...

October 5th 2009/Storyboard

I thought it would be funny to have this logo, because it sort of makes fun of star wars and the "enthusiasts" that go with it.  Generally it appeals to the movie buffs that enjoy not only star wars, but cult classic movies in general.

Technology and You

Yes and No.  Technology and Education don't necesarily need to be co-dependant, in fact the need for technology is only relative to the advancement of technology itself.  So really as long as tecnology doesn't develop any further, it doesn't need to be important.  Although the present mindset of todays society is that we need more, we need to consume and so this means that when the next ipod, computer operating software or calculator come out, we need to buy and consume more.  However today technology plays a fair role in my education, without it i would not be writing this right now, nor would i know how to write an executable file that can shut down your computer and change the password, and display anything i choose on your desktop.  So yes it's role is fair.

Photos

Today we finalized the photos we took, and begun our foray into the fireworks program, which is foreign and strange...well not really it’s pretty much normal once you know what you're doing, it’s a complicated version of paint...but that’s an oversimplification. Now for something completely different, I also had to give a reason for choosing the particular photos I did, the main reason being that the ones I chose just spoke to me. Or some crap like that. They were simply the best out of the 120 photos I took. In other news I am excited to get through this stuff so I can play Halo with a bunch of people in CTF!!

Monday September 14 2009

Today, I did expletive all, well that’s so far its only the first half but it seems it’s going to be one of those days, however I for see that I will play halo quite a bit for the next few months...sounds exciting.  And I have my ROMs which are fun but my emulator won't work so I end up playing and have to stop to press that annoying button...need to download 1.7...I installed iTunes again, I’m glad that they haven’t deleted my stuff yet, not that that’s an invitation or anything…hmmm I need six more words oh wait never mind haha.

First Week Back...

Today is Wednesday. It is the first Wednesday of many and the onset of near continual disappointment for the rest of the year is not yet apparent…although it looms in wait. My energy drink addiction is coming back; my first day back I drank and Arizona sized energy drink with over 375 mg of caffeine, more than half of the recommended daily dosage. In addition to that I also drank half of someone’s red bull, (I don’t even remember whose it was), and my own large sized red bull. I thought it was really cold Monday and unlike everyone around me, I was shivering uncontrollably…probably not very healthy. Yesterday I decided to have a Nos Fuel instead; you know the one shaped like a tank of nitrous oxide. And today, at 11.18 I really want a Red Bull.
